Ce manga est un nouvel hommage rendu à l'oeuvre d'Osamu Tezuka, le père du manga au Japon. Si le manga original comprenait 38 volumes, cette version n'en comprend que trois. Ce cours manga est en grande partie inspiré de la récentre série télé cu même nom. C'est donc le talentueux Akira Himekawa, connu pour son travail sur le manga "Legend of Zelda", qui a été choisi par la société Tezuka Productions pour redonner vie au gentil robot.
